I left a little later than usual this morning. It really wasn't that big of a deal though, until I got to the on ramp for the freeway. No one seemed to be moving. Joy of all joys. Now I knew I would be late. It took me about 20 minutes to get from the on ramp to the exit for 215, which mind you, is less than a mile. There was an out of control accident. Those just make me sick to my stomach, I almost started to cry. Ever since my accident a year and a half ago, anything that reminds me of it, makes me ill. There was a dump truck turned sideways, and 2 cars that were smashed beyond recognition. Glass all over the freeway, it was crazy.
I made it to school finally, though I arrived right as the kids were coming in. I'd warned Melissa, another 3rd grade teacher, that I didn't think I'd make it in time, so I wasn't too panicked, but it was still somewhat stressful to have the kids in my classroom before I was. I always hate when days start out this way. I'm hoping it'll only get better from there.

I always liked when my teachers were late. Sorry about the accident, that sucks! Hopefully your day will be less stressful!
Accidents are so scary -- especially if you've had one yourself. You never forget, I don't think. I'm hoping that the rest of the day is nice and easy!
i hate it when i'm running late. i'm so anal about my on-time performance. "no time to say goodbye - hello - i'm late, i'm late, i'm late!"
Oh man, I hate when your schedule gets messed up! It stresses me out, but I am ALWAYS & perpetually late...I need to be more like you, Mel.
