Today I got a new student. I always dread that, knowing how much work I need to put in to get all the materials prepared for her, plus catch her up on classroom procedures, rules, etc. etc. etc. Not my fav! However, I did survive and get through my day. Yay! This morning as a blond, blue eyed little girl walked into my classroom, I was somewhat surprised. What?! Are you in the wrong classroom? I am Mrs. Jensen ya know.
A little side note here, I have many different nationalities in my class, the minority being Caucasian. Lets see here, we've got Vietnamese, Asian, Korean, Hispanic, Laotian, and I'm sure I've missed a few. Don't get me wrong, I've got a pretty cute class this year. However, as told to me by our ESL specialist, "You've got THE most ESL students in your class. I will try and come help you as much as I can work in." Yeah, thanks people for trying to split that up somewhat evenly.

I hear you. I think even splits are the best thing for everyone - yay for someone who speaks English already!
Man, you are one good teacher, Mel! I am glad your day turned out good after all!
