Not a Happy Camper

I just finished watching my DVR recording of Dancing with the Stars. As before mentioned, one of my favorite shows to watch. I love to watch it shortly after it's started, in that I'll be able to fast forward through all the commercials. It got down to a mere second to the ending, "the one eliminated is...." and the blasted thing shut off! It did the same thing last week, and you think I would've learned and watched it with real time rather than relying on my DVR. However, I thought it was a fluke and gave it another chance. For reals, why the heck can't it finish the last few seconds if the show is still going past the 9:00 hour. I was frantically calling everyone to see if they saw who got kicked off since I got to see everything but that part. What the crappy is up with my DVR?! Quite the frustration.

Vote Now

I'm a huge Dancing with the Stars fan. I dvr it each week in case I accidentally miss it. My two favorite people, Steve Guttenburg (don't think I spelled that right) and Priscilla Presley are already kicked off. Blast it people. I like most everyone on there this season, except for Christian (he's too cocky for my taste), and Marissa (she just bugs me). Everyone head on over and vote now. Tonight someone else will be eliminated, it always makes me nervous.

Self Watering Planter

I've been wishing and wishing I had a fun little planter out on my balcony where I could grow tomatoes, strawberries, etc. However, I don't have any expendable money (who ever does?!) and couldn't really find one that was the style/color that I liked. Look how fun this one is. You water it once a week and it saves enough water to last through the entire week. How totally cool is that? I think this one is a definite "Me want".

Ahhh....Relaxation

This weekend I went with my parents to St. George to enjoy their fabulous house. Woo hoo! It was a blast. I needed a relaxing break from life, even if it was only Friday until Sunday.

I also got the pleasure of helping them carrying the 200+ pound kitchen table into the house. If you can imagine my dad on one side and my mom and me on the other, taking it a foot at a time, trying to lift/drag the table without dropping/scratching it. Sheesh! Let me say I got me a nice pair of biceps give or take a few bruises. Needless to say I woke up the next morning with many aches and pains.

It was so nice and warm I was loving it. I'd sit out on the patio in my pjs in the morning and read my book for a bit, or have breakfast. So sorry neighbors who had to see my scariness out there. I definitely didn't want to come back last night, the weekend wasn't long enough. Now I'm thinking I need to plan a girl's weekend sometime soon. If only I can remember how to find the place. Me and directions don't go well together.

Free Shipping.....Free Returns

Thanks everyone for your help and opinions about my up and coming debut of my new "tall" shoes. I really loved both, and then thought, hey, it says free shipping and free returns so why don't I get both, and then return the one that's not my favorite, right? Well, upon trying that, the black ones are no longer available in my size, blast. The brown ones (which were more of my favorite I must admit) are, so that went in my shopping bag immediately. Now I went in search of black ones. Here's what I came up with. Fun eh? I'm thinking I might have a hard time deciding when both of these bad boys come to my door. I've never been a good decision maker as it is, wish me luck.

Pumps or No Pumps?

Okay, I admit, I've never worn heels in my life. I mean seriously, I've always been so self conscious of my height, that I've always stayed away from such things. However, I've come to a time in my life where I think I need to get over it and start wearing (and learning?) how to wear heels. I've been looking on the Piperlime website, love it by the way. Here is what I have come up with so far. Find the brown one here or black one here. I thought both of these were adorable, and normally I would shy away from them considering the heel is 2 1/2 inches for the brown and 2 1/4 for the black. Plus they're on sale, with free shipping and returns of course. So what do you think? Which do you like better? Should I try these or go for something more basic and such?

School House Rock - Interjections!

I love School House Rock. I watched this one with my kids just yesterday. Sad that I can pretty much sing along with it. Such great songs though.

Mother's Day Ideas?

I'm trying to come up with what to get my momma for Mother's Day. Does anyone have any fabulous ideas? It doesn't need to be anything super exciting, but I do always like to get her something nice. She is a great momma after all. Any wonderful books you'd suggest, etc? I usually spend between $20-$30. I need all the help I can get.

On the Road Again.....

I'm going with my parents this weekend to St. George for a little getaway at their new house. Hooray! Free lodging, I'm always up for that one. Besides, I need a little spoiling with just my mom and dad and me right? Does anyone have any suggestions on good shopping spots, restaurants, etc? I feel like I haven't been to St. George in forever.

The Sun Always Shines on TV - Milk inc.

Ran across this song last night. Thought it was kind of a fun ditty, so I'm sharing it with all you lucky people.

Much Better

So remember how yesterday I was ready to strangle my kids? Today has already been much much better. I didn't get a good night's sleep last night, woke up pretty tired actually, never a good sign. However, I made a great breakfast, eggs and toast. I love my breakfast, yummy! I got to school somewhat on time today as well, always helps lower my stress level. Of course since I'm in a good mood it seems to rub off on my kiddies as well. Hooray! Now if I can just keep up this happiness all day, maybe we all will have a much better day. And wouldn't it be a nice added bonus if Deseret Book called me to say my beautiful picture was in? Okay, I won't hold my breath, though it would be super duper nice of them.

Breakdown

I'm ready to have a complete nervous breakdown today. My day didn't start out well to begin with, which is never a good way to start any day, not to mention a Monday. I got a new student today, who is already getting in trouble for talking too much, oh joy. My other students have apparently decided that they need to talk just as much. I'm seriously ready to kick some behinds! We had to try walking to the lunch room twice since we couldn't do it correctly the first time.

My kids are obnoxious pieces of crapola at the moment and I can't wait until I can get rid of them at 3:25. I'll be singing praises when I hear that bell ring. Hopefully tomorrow I can start out in a better mood, and maybe my kids will feel the same way. Please, oh please, I beg! My week can only get better right? I feel like such a bitchy complainer today, hmmm.....maybe because I am. I also need to go to the grocery store after school and I'm hoping I won't bite anyone's head off in the meantime. Wish me luck.

Scrapbook Expo

Tomorrow starts the Scrapbook Expo here in Salt Lake City. Can I just tell you how excited I am? I'm going with my sister and a bunch of our friends from card club. Last year I missed out and my sister wouldn't let me get away with it this time. It'll be fun times for sure. We're going to lunch afterwards, and will make a day of it. I already have a few things in mind on what I need, but other than that I'm going to try and keep a budget considering I've exceeded it quite a bit this month.

Amaranthine

I had my adorable little nephew, Garrett, sleep over last night. We had such a blast! I love when he comes over. He's been begging me forever to come over again, so it's about time. After taking him home I went with my sister and niece, Ashlie, to run errands. Once again great times, anything to do with my niece and nephew are always great times.

One of our stops was Deseret Book to find a book for Garrett's talk tomorrow in church. As we were there my sis showed me this beautiful picture, Amaranthine, she ordered. It's 50% off baby! How gorgeous would that look above my couch in my family room. It's limited edition, only 1000 available, signed by the artist. I completely fell in love. Besides, you can never have too many pictures with the Salt Lake Temple, right? After coming home from our errand running, I called up Deseret Book and ordered it. Hehe. You knew I would, right? It takes about 2 weeks to come in. Now something else to look forward to.

Where Are You?

I'm one of those anxious people that refreshes my email page like a bazillion times a day in hopes of receiving something. I also am obsessive when it comes to getting packages from the UPS man.

I'm expecting my Vinyl Lettering to come today (it does say it's Out for Delivery), and possibly my rugs (I'm just hoping on that one). My fun new shower curtain, however, is not due until next Monday, yet I'm still frequently refreshing the UPS page to see how far along it's gone. Seriously, you'd think I'd have something better to do in my free time, right? Not so, I tell you. What could possibly be more important then finding out when my packages are coming and where they are at this exact moment?

UPDATE: I came home from work last night to a wonderful surprise on my doorstep. I received my vinyl lettering AND my new rugs. Hooray! I made a night of mopping floors, cause you can't put new rugs on dirty ones of course.

Sequence

Growing up my family played lots of board games or card games for family night or whenever we went to St. George with my grandparents. I still love to play such games. I'm getting quite a collection of my favorites. My sister gave me Sequence a while ago because she had 2 of them. What a fun game. I think I would have to say this is one of my favorites. I love strategy games such as Blokus, Mancala, etc. And of course one of my all time favorites, The Game of Life. I could go on forever with a list of games I love. Does anyone have any other favorite games to share?

Weekend?

This weekend was great, in that I had conference to watch. I really enjoyed it I must say! It's fabulous when I'm watching it because I want to, not because I have to, ya know. Great times. On the other hand, my weekend wasn't quite so fabulous. For the past 2 weekends, my parents have been in St. George setting up their new summer home. Last weekend my sister and her family went, this past weekend my brother and his wife went. Now, to give my family credit, they did invite me both times, I just wasn't in the mood to go. I love my sister and brother, and enjoy being around them, yet lately it seems it's harder for me to be around some people than it is to just be lonely by myself.

I was lonely this weekend and last weekend without my parents, they've been fantastic, coming over to visit anytime I need them. I seem to handle things pretty well during the day, errands to run, things to clean, places to be, but after dinner things start to fall apart. Most nights I'm just darn lonely and pathetic. I don't feel like going out, yet I hate staying in by myself. Everything I do reminds me of Matt and I hate it. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it.

Eat Your Peas

I read this book recently to my students. They loved it!! It's a pretty funny book about trying to get this little girl to eat her peas. Try it out if you haven't read it yet.

Rub a Dub Dub...

In my previous post I mentioned my shower curtain. Here it is. I've been searching for quite some time to find one that I liked. I've looked in many stores and practically everywhere on line and couldn't find anything until just the other day. I'm quite pleased with this one and am excited to finally have a shower curtain in the guest bathroom. If you can't see the picture so well, it's a white background with small different colored butterflies. I'm hoping I like it as much in real life as I do in the picture. Now it's on to finding shower rings so I'll be able to hang it up when it comes. Wish me luck.

On the Hunt for New Rugs

I need some new rugs for my master bathroom. I have 2 sinks and need to either get 2 rugs or a big long one to fit there. At the moment I only have one rug and of course it's been discontinued so I can't just go buy another. My thoughts at the moment are to transfer my rugs from the master bathroom to the guest bathroom since it only has one sink. I do need rugs for that room since the previous owners left theirs (which I've been using in the meantime) but they're rust red and won't match my newly ordered shower curtain (once again I didn't have one). Now, the problem is, which rugs should I get? I don't have a heck of a lot of money to spend, but I want something that looks nice yet gets the job done. I found these on JCPenney.com. I liked the linen beige ones, since it would practically go with anything. And I also liked the idea that it has a really long one that just might fit under both my sinks.

What do you think? I really like them, but I'm worried it'll be too expensive and maybe I should just get some cheap ones at Target. Any ideas anyone?

Disgusting!

I found this article in the Deseret News this morning. Curtis was one of our student teachers last year in 3rd grade. Can I just tell you how sick to my stomach I am right now! He was also in my Balanced Literacy class I've been taking every time I'm off track, only he wasn't there this past time. Now I know why.
