Lost Season 4

Don't miss the beginning of the new season of Lost tonight on channel 4 at 7:00. Read about it here. I've definitely been waiting a long time for this one to start. I got my DVD of season 3 for Christmas, which I watched in just a few days. Enjoy everyone. I know I will be.

Creepy Crawly

If I haven't mentioned this before, I'm deathly afraid of spiders. I don't care how big or small they are (okay, obviously I do care how big they are, they're gross), but I'm scared of them no matter what they look like. I went into the faculty bathroom the other day, having to pee of course. I noticed this spot/spider looking thing on the floor. I honestly don't think it's a spider at first, until it starts moving. Lucky for me I've finished my business, and let out a yell as I move as far away from this thing as I can. I keep my eye on the little creepy crawly as I'm frantically washing my hands.

Now, wouldn't a normal person just squash it, considering it's on the floor and all I'd have to do is step on it? Oh no, I can't get spider guts on my shoe, that'd be more then traumatic. I do the only rational thing possible, I run out the door and leave it for the next person. Not to self, don't go pee before checking the bathroom for spiders.

Me and My Skippyjon

I absolutely, positively love Skippyjon Jones books. I recently bought this one to complete my collection. If you haven't ever tried a Skippyjon book, please do. They're so hilarious, I usually can't make it through a page without my kids and myself laughing crazily.

I've now converted my sister's two little ones into Skippyjon Jones Addicts. They have many parts of the book (they only have the first one so far) memorized word for word. Garret and Ashlie frequently say, "Holy Frijoles" Gotta love it. So please check out this book if you haven't yet, I definitely recommend it.

Sane or Insane?

I'm losing my sanity! I can't take much more of these inside recess days. I realize it's cold, I realize it's been snowing, a lot. But come on people, can't we have outside days sometimes? The kids, mine anyway, are going absolutely insane being inside everyday. I think they want to be out there as much as I want them to. They need to run around and get their wiggles out. If the weather doesn't warm up soon I'm going to completely lose my sanity.

What a Morning

I woke up this morning to a text message. And might I add what a wonderful time it was for a text message. After noticing the time, and that I was at least 30 minutes late in getting out of bed, I wanted to kiss that text message. During the night of the terrible winds, my power had gone out and of course reset the clocks AND my alarm, hence my never waking up, if it hadn't been for the blessed text message. I actually was on time to work today, miracle of miracles. I feel like I don't have much energy today due to my flinging out of bed and rushing around like a mad woman. But the important thing is I'm here, right?

Our Sweet Prophet

I was so sad last night when my mom called me and told me the news that President Hinckley had passed away. My sister, her two kids and I were driving home when we got this news. It's nice to know he's happy and with his adorable wife, but he will be greatly missed. When my sister told Garrett, he got kinda said and said, "I remember he was alive when I was 4". What a cute comment from a little kiddo.

Party At My Place

I'm so excited! Tonight my little nephew, Garrett, age 5, is coming to sleep over at my house. He's such a little cutie. He's never had a sleep over before, and never asked about having one, until he saw the extra bed in the spare bedroom that he claimed was just right for him to sleep in. He's been asking me repeatedly for the past few weeks when he could come sleep over. Every time I'd answer, "soon". His reply was,"What day?"

My sister told me he already has his 2 books picked out to bring with him for reading time before bed. I also told him he could pick a game to bring for us to play. He was shocked I don't have Candy Land or Chutes and Ladders. He says I need to go to the store and buy them cause they're fun games. I love little kiddies!

My Answers

Natalie

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go? Where's your favorite place you've visited? This is a tough one, there are a bunch of places I would love to go to. I would probably have to say Paris, France has always been my dream, and also Germany, to see where my Grandma was born. I also have a couple favorite places I've been. Nova Scotia, Hawaii, South Carolina, New York. Oh boy, it's hard for me to narrow it down. Those would probably be my favorite ones though.

Where have you lived? Would you ever live outside of Utah? If you could live anywhere, where would you live? I've only ever lived in Utah. Salt Lake City, Bountiful, and now West Jordan to be exact. I've considered living outside of Utah. I think if I did, I'd have to have family close enough to drive home to visit. I'm definitely a family girl. I've thought about living in Arizona or somewhere warm, I'm not a snow person.

What is your dream car? Black Convertible Audi TT. And someday when I'm rich and famous I'm going to have one of these.

Liz

If you could buy however many stamp sets you could how many would you buy? At least 10. I can think of 10 I want right now off hand.

If you could have any job in the world what would it be besides a school teacher? I've always wanted to be a stay at home mom, that would be my dream job. But other than that, I've alway wanted to own a bookstore, with a little cafe attached that sells cheesecake.

What is your favorite dessert? I know what your favorite food is. I love cheesecake, pumpkin pie (just the kind my mom makes. I don't do store bought kinds), and my Grandma always made me Coffee Cake that was to die for!

Jori

What is your favorite restaurant? Have you noticed I can never list just one thing. Haha. Cafe Rio, McGrath's Fish House, Macaroni Grill.

What was your worst dining experience? Well, if it was a dining experience with a guy I'd definitely say it's when I went on a blind date with a guy. Hated his name, hated how freaking short he was. We went to Chili's and he didn't even eat. He said he was fasting. Hey, moron, why did you take me to dinner if you weren't planning on eating. He just sat there and stared at me the whole time until I'd had enough and yelled at him to Stop Staring At Me! Needless to say, we never went out again.

Have you ever been in a fight with a students parent? Physical fight, sometimes I feel like it. hehe. I've never been in a shouting match or anything, though there have been some parents I've hated, and mutually I might add. I've heard crap said about me and been pissed off, but I guess I've never officially been in a fight.

Emily

What is your favorite thing to do by yourself? Reading, card making, or watching a good chick flick.

If you could do one thing for someone else, what and who would you do it for? Well, at the moment I would want to do something for my sister. I'd switch her places with having gone through her stroke, so she wouldn't have to deal with all of this after stuff. Or if I was rich I'd help her pay all of the medical bills and such that are forthcoming.

Whats your dream vacation? Paris or Germany, somewhere out of the country. With my husband and given a couple weeks to leisurely sightsee and spend as much money as we want.

If you could meet a movie character who would you want to meet? If it was an actor I'd say Matthew McConaughey. A character in a movie would be Mr. Knightley from Emma. I just watched that show the other day and I so love him.

Valentine Card

Here's the picture of my cards I finished tonight. It's not the best quality of a picture, I seemed to have some issues with that, so I'm dealing with it. I used some of that fun Glossy Accent stuff to make the window look all shiny. Fun times.

I finished vacuuming just a little while ago, now I'm on to making me some cookies. Wish me luck.

Card Club

I have my card club, which is tomorrow, at my house. I'm excited to show off my new place to everyone. I've got it somewhat decorated and organized. But, I'm definitely not looking forward to cleaning tonight. Ya know, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, all that not so fun stuff you gotta do every once in a while. And of course I haven't done much of that since I've moved in. I haven't done much of anything since I got sick last week. So tonight is my night of cleaning. Yuck! I also have to make some cookies as our snack. Snickerdoodles are my cookie of choice this time. Yummy. And then I need to finish doing my cards for this month. Our theme is Valentines. I'm almost done, just need to glue a couple more things together, stamp my little saying on the inside and Presto, I'll be finished. I'll have to post a picture when I get them finished. They were fun to do.

Questions Anyone?

Alright, so I've been reading all your blogs and I'm now copying your post about asking questions. Yes, I know I still need to think of questions for ya'll as well. If anyone has any fun questions for me, feel free to ask. I'm up for anything.

Hip Hip Hooray!

Yes, I'm proud to share with everyone. I'm finally feeling better today. Hooray!! I stayed in most of my precious weekend, but I think it was worth it in the end. I'm so glad to be feeling back to my same old self. And it's about time too. Sheesh! Medicines do wonders, not to mention a whole lot of wonderful sleep.

Kill Me Now

Yesterday I finally gave in and went to the doctor, I needed some sort of relief since I couldn't sleep, couldn't breathe, couldn't do pretty much anything. The diagnosis, a sinus infection and bronchitis. What? Both at the same time? I thought one was bad enough. I loaded up on a bunch of medicines, went home and crashed for the rest of the day. This morning I felt like death warmed over, couldn't even talk, I hate that. My brother-in-law suggested I might want to look into working for a phone service with my great "sexy" voice. Thanks Greg!

I read and slept most of the day today. Hallelujah, I'm now able to breathe thanks to some of that great medicine. Can't wait for the upcoming weekend, hopefully I can get all the way better and not miss my entire break.

I Need Some Hot Soup

I'm so frustrated today. I got really sick Friday night, as in terrible sore throat, headache, stuffy nose (where you can't lie down without breathing through your mouth), and fever. And it just seemed to get worse on Saturday. In some way it was nice to have a weekend to rest up and try to get better. On the other hand I hate wasting a weekend on sickness. By Monday I still felt like crapola. Can I just say how glad I am to have my new couch. It kept great company all weekend. Oh my goodness, and have I raved how much I'm in love with my fireplace I have? How have I ever lived without one? I seriously made myself a little bed in front of it with my pillow and blanket and lied there all Saturday to keep myself warm. Great inventions.

Today I'm starting to feel better (fever's gone), but still wish I was wrapped up in my blankets with some nice hot soup. Mmmmm. I'm considering running home during lunch to make me some. I only live about 7 minutes away.

What Did I Do Tonight?

You may ask what I've done tonight. Okay, so I've always said I'm a loser, but seriously, here's my example for today. I got home from work and oooh'd and ahhhhh'd over my new beeeeautiful couch and love seat. Love it baby! Love that new smell of leather, love the dark chocolate brown, love to actually sit on something besides a folding chair that gives me major car bum. Then I had to go stare at my washer and dryer. Of course I was so excited that I needed to immediately look over the instructions and try to figure out how to work the blasted thing.

So lets see, after my dinner of frozen meatballs, which I decided to spill all over my clean kitchen tiles, oh joy, I've done 2 washes in my new washer, and sat on my fun and yummy smelling couch and watched me some DVR'd episodes of King of Queens and What Not to Wear. Yes, I've had quite the exciting night. Aren't you all jealous?

Suckiest of Suckies

Alright, so I figured I'd share my bad news I talked about in my previous post and just get it over with. It's hard to talk about, and I haven't shared it with everyone yet, not even those I work with (except Hayley, don't say anything). When I moved into my townhouse in West Jordan, my husband, Matt, did not move with me. We're separated right now, and I'm not so sure he'll ever be living with me again. He hasn't really been treating me the way I should and deserve to be treated. It's hard to talk about, and makes me cry anytime I bring it up. Things have happened that are not acceptable, and I'm unsure if they will ever be fixed.

Some days I like to think things could be perfect, and I could have a marriage like I hear everyone else talking about. I want children so much it hurts at times, but I know the circumstances are not so great right now. It does help to spend time with my adorable niece and nephew and feel their love for me. I'm trying to stay positive and keep my mine occupied as often as I can just to survive. I'll update more later.

Tomorrow is the Day

Oh my goodness, I'm so excited! My new couch and love seat are being delivered tomorrow. Hooray! I posted a picture up above of the same one I'm getting in the same chocolate color, minus the girl sitting on it. I've also ordered my washer/dryer, which will also be delivered tomorrow. I ordered the front loader Whirlpool Duets, I think that's what it's called, right? Not looking forward to paying everything off, but that's what I work for I guess. Whew! I can't wait to get everything in and situated.

My Friend JCPenney

Since moving into my wonderful Townhouse, I've come to realize I need a floor lamp in the bedroom. And of course I want the one that matches my adorable bedside lamps, which my sister already has both by the way. I trek over to JCPenney on a quest for my coveted lamp. I'm quite worried since it was in the fall when my sister and I found those cute lamps. I find the floor model, but can't find any boxes underneath. Blast! I frantically run around looking for someone that works there. Have you ever noticed when you don't need someone they're all over the place, but as soon as you need help they're nowhere to be found?

I finally get someone to help me, and we can't find any on the floor. She then goes in the back to check if they have more. Nope, of course not. Then she looks to see if other stores have them....Nope, of course not. Then, she checks to see if they're getting more in. By this point, I'm about ready to have a complete break down. I need my lamp people! Don't you understand that!!!! And yet again, the answer is no, they will not be getting anymore in. At this point I start thinking, hmmm....maybe I could buy the floor model if it's in good condition.

We pull it off the shelf and I inspect it carefully. Bingo, it looks great to me. Let me add that this adorable floor lamp is normally $160 (my sister paid that....poor Laura), but it now on sale for $80, and since I'm buying the floor model, they give me an additional 10% off. This must've been my lucky day. I only paid around $75 for this baby and it now looks so perfect sitting in the corner of my bedroom by my chest of drawers. I'll need to take a picture and post it since I can't find any online (once I find my camera of course). Those blasted boxes I still need to unpack are haunting me.

There is Beauty All Around

Alright, so I survived the ordeal of moving everything off of the carpet onto the tile on Wednesday night. Of course I couldn't sleep much at all having to sleep in the bathroom, not to mention having a terrible nightmare about tarantulas. On my trek into the toilet during the night, I had to make it through the obstacle course, oh joy, and managed it without too many mishaps (banging my knee on the end table from the family room, stubbing my toe on my headboard). But I did make it through the night.

Yesterday I got home at 7pm and I had beautiful, soft carpet throughout my house. Yay! Let me just tell you how much I love it!!!! All of the furniture is back where it should be and I was able to sleep in my own bed, and actually sleep last night. I also found out that sometime this next week my couch/love seat will be coming. Can't wait until that happens, then there will finally be somewhere to sit and watch some TV. Next on my list of To Do's is finding a washer/dryer so I don't have to make the trek over to use my sister's. hehe. Gotta love family for that reason. What would I do without her? But overall things are finally starting to come together and I'm starting to make things feel more like home.

Crazy Days!

Oh boy! I'm finally moved into the new place. Hooray! However, I feel like I'm not even close to being unpacked or organized. The wonderful thing is there seems to be a ton and then some of storage space, be it a linen closet in each bathroom, huge kitchen with tons of cupboard space, plus a storage closet off the balcony, and storage in the garage. I'm definitely in heaven. I think I might be able to actually have room for everything. Yay for me!

New carpet is coming tomorrow. After moving in, we realized it needs to be replaced, and of course I didn't figure out I would need to move part of my closet shelves until AFTER I had organized everything. Oh geez! Somehow tonight we need to figure out how to move all the furniture off of the carpet and into the bathrooms or kitchen area. Lucky me gets to sleep in the bathroom tonight. Haha. The couch I ordered a week ago hasn't come yet, which is probably a good thing since I can't think of where we'd put it until the carpet gets down. The not so fun part is I'm stuck sitting on the floor or folding chairs in the meantime. Oh the joys of moving.

Wish me luck tonight in finding spots on the tile for everything, and myself of course.
